PRIORITYIPsm
Broadband Internet
In September 2000, RNi announced the pilot deployment of its
PRIORITYIP
sm
broadband Internet technology in its home city of Tempe, AZ. The
service area is expanding out from the first Access Point located
in Tempe and will reach out to cover the entire Phoenix metro area
and outlying communities.
PRIORITYIP
sm
broadband Internet is delivered through a Metropolitan Area Network based on 2.4GHZ Direct Sequence Spread
Spectrum Radio technology. The network is capable of priority based
routing and bandwidth shaping allowing multiple levels of service
to be offered on the same medium. It is this advantage along with the
cost-effectiveness of wireless that allow RNi to offer last mile
connectivity at price/performance combinations that were previously
unheard of. Each PRIORITYIPsm tier is guaranteed three ways.
1) CIR (Committed Information Rate). This is the rate of bandwidth you will get at all times guaranteed.
2) Uptime. This is the percentage of time your circuit will be up and running in a given month.
3) Latency. This is the maximum latency guarantee measured over a given month.
You will find these guarantees in the RNi SLA (Service Level Agreement).

P1
broadband Internet is the premier RNi connectivity solution. Meant for businesses with
significant data requirements, P1 is equivalent to point-to-point
broadband connectivity typically offered on a wired medium. The
performance of P1 service is equivalent to T1, E1, T3, DS-3, etc.
CIR = 100%, Uptime = 99.9%, Latency = 60ms or less

P2
broadband Internet subscribers yield to P1 subscribers and share the available bandwidth
in their wireless cell. Like P1 subscribers, P2 subscribers enjoy FULL
speed downloads AND uploads making it an attractive solution for small
to medium sized businesses and even home enthusiasts. This level of
PRIORITYIP
sm
broadband Internet is comparable to Symmetric DSL services.
CIR = 50%, Uptime = 99%, Latency = 60ms or less
PRIORITYIP
sm
P3
broadband Internet is a consumer tier service which yields to P1 and P2, but offers burst
downloads at full network capacity. This level of
PRIORITYIP
sm
broadband Internet service exceeds cable modem performance.
CIR = 25%, Uptime = 99%, Latency = 80ms or less
PRIORITYIP
sm
broadband Internet accounts are offered with valuable packaged services for home and office.
